The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Punjab has vowed not to let the government sweep the investigation of Sahiwal incident under the carpet through suspicious proceedings of Joint Investigation Team (JIT). Secretary Information PPP Punjab, Syed Hassan Murtaza said on Thursday that new questions have arisen out of JIT proceeding which is trying to secure someone by telling a lie to the people.

He said it is unfortunate that the responsible Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) officials are not ready to take responsibility of the incident. The circumstantial evidence suggests that not a single bullet was fired from inside the fire, he added. He said that the PPP would not let CTD record false statements and added that the JIT proceedings are suspicious and mysterious. He said the PPP would not let the government sweep the matter under the carpet.
